David Johndrow has been taking photographs for more than 20 years. After receiving a Communications degree at the University of Texas, he dedicated himself to photography full time, working from everything from portraiture to landscapes. Since 1996 he has owned a photo lab that specializes in black and white printing. David's photographs have appeared in many publications, including Rolling Stone, GQ, Entertainment Weekly, and Uncut Magazine, and in a number of exhibitions.
When he creates a photograph, David tries to see the world with the filter of perception. He often chooses seemingly simple subjects and ordinary moments to reveal something about their essence that is hidden from passing perception. He believes that behind the appearance of the commonplace is a world full of meaning and mystery. For him, the act of taking a picture is stop time and to show the beauty and power of subtle gestures and quiet spaces.
