Frank Guerra is a product of a distinct Southern Texas culture, one that is fused with Mexican tradition, ranch culture, and surrealism. He uses subject matter from his childhood and unequivocal cultural icons to connect with his community that hopefully bridges the gap between Hispanic art and modern American culture. Frank Guerra has exhibited his work in various group and solo exhibits in Oaxaca, Mexico, Los Angeles, California, Atlanta, Georgia, Brooklyn, New York, and St. Louis, Missouri.
Through the eyes of family members, Hello…Remember…Goodbye explores occasions from the past, family members, and family situations alongside feelings of loss and love. Old family photos are distorted and the figures are replaced with plants and skeletons in order to symbolize the cycle within family.
