Toma Mi Corazón is La Peña’s signature event and annual fundraiser. Every year hundreds of wooden hearts are given to artists, children, dignitaries, celebrities, and anyone else who wants one. They’re free to decorate them however they want. Once they are returned, the hearts are sold in a silent auction. Proceeds from their sale go towards supporting La Peña’s arts and educational programming.

La Peña invites everyone to “Take My Heart” once again on Saturday, February 9, 2008. The event kicks off with a preview party at 5 pm at Las Manitas Avenue Cafe. It will be people's chance to enjoy some food, drinks, and listen to some live music from Sister Sister y los Misters. It’s also an opportunity to make some of the first bids on the hearts. Then at 7 pm the silent auction officially begins at La Peña and Las Manitas. Bidding ends at 9 pm.

Toma Mi Corazón is a chance to not only help support La Peña but also own some unique, original artwork.
