Victor Garcia is an artist who lives in Lockhart, Texas. In 2003 he decided to fulfill a promise he made to himself when he was young and that was not to waste a god given talent and pursue an artistic career. He hasn’t looked back since then. He attributes his love of art to being exposed to his father’s sketches of tattoos and his mother’s books of Renaissance paintings and sculptures at an early age. While attending Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas to obtain a BA in Sociology with a minor in Art, he was greatly influenced by fellow artists and professors Jill Pankey and Pehr Smith. Garcia’s other influences come from travels which have taken him halfway around the world that gave him opportunities to interact with like minded artists.

With every painting he completes Garcia can feel his heart and mind becoming clearer. He describes his art as giving the viewer a romantic glimpse of his perceptions of family, cultural heritage and the importance of passing knowledge onto children. His ideas come from people he knew as a child, aspirations he had growing up, philosophical ideas, literature, poetry, dreams, and events from his travels. He believes most people live in a “fog or haze” and never have the opportunity to see the true beauty and even the cruelty in the world around us. We are always striving to show others the true souls of how we envision the world around us. His paintings come from his soul and true essence, so he seeks to stir and move the souls of those who view his work.
