La Peña presents "Mujeres de Trascendcia" a group art exhibition at La Pena Gallery for International Women's Month. The show features the artwork of Alejandra Almuelle, Laura Lopez Cano, Cecilia Colome, Cecilia Sanchez Duarte, Sandra Fernandez, Ana Fuentes, Marsha Gomez, Toni Hudson, Maria Limon, Grace Rosales, Mrs Silva, and Liliana Wilson. The exhibit runs from March 1st until April 4th with a reception taking place on Friday, March 10th from 6-8 pm.

Individually, these women have used their art work to represent, share, and preserve a rich cultural heritage as well as use it as a platform to speak out on important issues facing women and minorities. These artists and other women have continued to voice their struggle on issues such as civil rights, anti-violence, and equal opportunities in education and in the workplace. International Women's Day was recognized by the United Nations in 1975, and in 1987 the U.S. declared March Women's History Month.
